The Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District is located in the Educational Center of the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. Edinburg is a three-time "All-America City," and is also home to the University of Texas - Rio Grande Valley and to the Region One Education Service Center.
Edinburg CISD is committed to its students, parents, district employees, and the community. We recognize the importance and impact education has on every student from three years of age to 12th grade. Our goals are to ensure each student is prepared to thrive and excel in a global society.
ECISD offers free all-day Pre K 3 and Pre K 4 programs available to all students at every elementary campus. Developing a successful Early Education curriculum taught by certified teachers is one of our biggest priorities.

contribute to their development and success. Our after School programs offer students Enrichment, UIL, Fine Arts and Athletics at every campus. These extracurricular programs build on our legacy of academic excellence, and provide our students with the experiences and resources to achieve the highest levels of success.

Edinburg CISD encompasses 945 square miles which makes it one of the largest school districts in the nation. ECISD provides award-winning academics at 4 high schools, 6 middle schools, 31 elementary schools, 1 virtual, 1 alternative, and 1 credit recovery campus. Student enrollment for the Edinburg CISD is over 33,000 students.
New students and families choose to enroll in the District, as it offers a well balanced curriculum with small classes. Edinburg CISD offers a FREE full day Pre-K 3 and 4 programs at ALL elementary campus. The ECISD is an open enrollment district for any student living in the surrounding school areas. Parents who live or work in Edinburg are encouraged to enroll their children in Edinburg schools.
The District also provides high quality after school enrichment programs at ALL school levels every day until 5 PM. Elementary, middle, and high school students are able to participate in clubs, UIL, tutorials, and enrichment daily. Best of all, the afterschool programs are taught by certified professionals. All of our high schools offer strong rigorous academic programs with diversified course offerings in fine arts, athletics, elective subjects and career and technical education.
