Transparency
As part of ECISD's efforts to increase the level of transparency and community engagement in the budgeting process, the District is committed to providing essential financial information and data on District revenues, expenditures, tax rates, cost drivers and comparative data with other school districts so that the public has the information it needs to actively participate in the process.
The Finance Division is responsible for preparing financial reports that promote transparency and accountability. The following financial documents are available for your review.
ECISD was notified that by the Government Finance Officers Association that it received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 7th consecutive year.
The summary data is from the government-wide Statement of Activities in the district's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). The government-wide Statement of Activities reports the results of the district's operations on an accrual basis of accounting. Revenues are recognized when earned and expenses are recognized at the time the liability is incurred. The per student figures are based on Edinburg CISD's fiscal year 2016-2017 student membership of 34,629 as reported to the Texas Education Agency (TEA)

Debt Information:
Summary information about outstanding debt including debt obligations, descriptions, dates issued, total amounts and maturity dates. This district's debt policy in regardds to bonds, loans and notes.
Budget:
A budget serves as the financial plan for the district. It shows proposed spending and revenue in broad categories by fund and function.
Check Register:
A check register is a listing of all payments incurred by the district. The check register includes the check date, number, payee, check amount and funding source.
Comprehensive Annual Report (CAFR)
This report provides a quantitative look at the operating success, financial health, and compliance of the government report units. It includes a balance sheet, a statement of changes in financial position, a statement of revenues and expense, and a comparison of budgeted to actual expenses and revenues.
